City GardenThe brief was to create a garden on a long narrow sight, which could be appreciated from every room within this long narrow house. From the street, we also wanted to disguise the fact that there was actually a house there at all. Most people think it%u2019s a garage, which belongs to the house next door. When you discover the path, it gently takes you to the front door. There is a lovely slow progression through a Gardenia walk, featuring Hollywood Junipers, which is juxtaposed against the Oi Oi or Jointed Rush - an amazing plant that has movement in the wind. Also a great contrast to the blousy, fragrant blooms of the Gardenia, these upright spears shooting from the ground work well, especially with the brown timbers of the house. |
